Inspiring Flooring Designs for Vinyl Tiles

You can create a different look and feel by installing luxury vinyl tiles and planks in an array of flooring patterns. Here are some designs using single-sized vinyl tiles or planks without special cuts.
Grid –
Also referred to as a stack bond, it is an arrangement with all vertical and horizontal points continuously aligned. Best using rectangle, square, or plank tiles.
Offset –
Also referred to as running bond. This layout is offset by half the width of the plank or tile. Best using rectangle, square, or plank tiles.
Stagger –
An arrangement of tiles or planks on alternating sides of a centerline. Ideal for 2 or 3 color variations. Best using rectangle, square, or plank tiles.
Diagonal –
An offset pattern set on a 45-degree angle. Best using rectangle, square, or plank tiles.
Herringbone –
A pattern resembling fish scales adds a level of sophistication. Not to be confused with Chevron. Best using rectangle or plank tiles.
Weave –
A weave pattern (also referred to as basketweave) offers several woven effect variations creating movement within a space. Best using rectangle tiles.
Corridor –
A version of a grid pattern offset by intervening rows. Best using rectangle or plank tiles.
Soldier –
A vertical grid or stack using planks or rectangular tiles. Alternate tile direction to create variation. Best using rectangle or plank tiles.
Quarter-Turn –
Start with a vinyl flooring tile placed in any direction. Quarter-turn each following tile beside the previous tile at 90 degrees. Best using square tiles.
Flemish Bond –
This pattern is comprised of alternating rectangle and square tiles. It is ideal for one- or two-color variations. Best using rectangle or square tiles.
Random –
An arrangement of planks in no particular order for an aimless design. Best using plank tiles.
