Meet Carrie Dolan, Accounting at Creative Carpet & Flooring
Q: What motivates you to work for Creative Carpet & Flooring?
A: The family-owned atmosphere makes all the difference. It’s not just a company—it’s a team of genuinely good people who care about each other and about making customers happy. That kind of positive energy is contagious! When my husband was transferred out of state, they didn’t just say, “Well, good luck!”—they found a way to keep me on board remotely, which meant the world to me. It’s rare to find a workplace that values its employees the way Creative Carpet & Flooring does, and I’m so grateful to be part of it.
Q: What issue will you always speak your mind about?
A: National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation is the best Christmas movie of all time. No debate. No discussion. Just facts. If you don’t agree, well, I have some questions about your taste in holiday entertainment, but we can still be friends. Probably.
Q: As a member of our team, what has been your greatest accomplishment?
A: Transitioning to remote work after moving across the country was a huge milestone for me. I had only been with Creative Carpet & Flooring for about six months when my husband’s job took us out of state, so I suddenly had to navigate a major life change and figure out how to do my job from a distance. It could have been chaotic, but thanks to an incredibly supportive team, the transition was smoother than I ever imagined. Now, I get to do what I love while working from home in my comfy pants—total win!
Q: What silly accomplishment are you most proud of?
A: My kids taught me how to do the floss dance a few years ago, and for one fleeting moment, I had actual cool points in their eyes. Of course, they’ve since moved on to new trends I can’t keep up with, but I’ll always have my flossing glory days.
Q: What committee/clubs are you currently a part of (if any)?
A: I’m involved in my daughters’ school PTO, which means I know way more about fundraising and school events than I ever expected to. My family and I also love giving back to the community, and we’ve had the chance to volunteer for some amazing organizations like Feed My Starving Children and the Down Syndrome Network of Arizona. There’s nothing better than being part of something bigger than yourself and seeing the direct impact of lending a helping hand.
Q: Where is your hometown?
A: Home sweet Homewood, Illinois! It’s where I grew up, made some of my best memories, and learned the true meaning of Midwestern hospitality (and how to survive brutal winters). Now, I’m soaking up the sunshine in Phoenix, Arizona, where the only ice I have to worry about is in my margarita.
Q: What is your favorite flooring?

A: I’d have to go with Tilebar’s Burgos Terracotta Clay 14×14 Matte Porcelain Tile, even though I don’t have it in my home yet. Living in the desert, I love the idea of incorporating those rich, warm tones that just scream cozy Southwest charm. There’s something timeless about terracotta—it’s like stepping into a Spanish villa every time you walk into the room. One day, I’ll make it happen!
Q: What is your favorite flooring in your house?
Tilebar – Angela Harris Mediterra Terracotta 8×8 Matte Porcelain Tile
A: So, funny story — I actually haven’t replaced my flooring yet because, well, life. First came the new air conditioner, then the roof… apparently, you need those things before you can splurge on beautiful floors. Who knew? But when the time comes, I’m dreaming of installing Tilebar’s Angela Harris Mediterra Terracotta 8×8 Matte Porcelain Tile in my office. I can just picture it—warm, sunbaked tones that bring a little Mediterranean magic right into my workspace. Manifesting it now!

As a key player in bookkeeping, she focuses on accounts receivable and payroll, ensuring financial operations run smoothly. Her love for the company’s family-oriented culture and leadership’s genuine care made her transition to remote work seamless when her family relocated to Arizona. Always eager to grow, she has expanded her expertise in business accounting while balancing work and family life. Outside of work, Carrie enjoys hiking, baking, and volunteering in her community. She’s a devoted fan of tacos, classic sitcoms, and dreams of installing Desert Clay Terracotta tile in her home—once the big-ticket items like a roof and AC are handled. With a photographic memory and a knack for Excel, Carrie Dolan thrives in her field while keeping things fun, whether it’s planning a trip to Kauai or reminiscing about her Homewood, IL, roots.
